German Satellite Data Archive – User Services

The large-scale German Satellite Data Archive (D-SDA) User Services facility in Oberpfaffenhofen is the central German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) infrastructure for internal and external access to Earth observation products from the D-SDA. The facility is used to research, visualise, evaluate, order and download Earth observation products archived at the D-SDA.

Access to the geo-data portal for satellite data

German Remote Sensing Data Center (DFD) is used to create, maintain and provide a catalogue of Earth observation data managed within the D-SDA. Aditionally, the facility aims to operate and continuously develop a state-of-the-art geo-data portal (EOWEB Geoportal), as well as supporting the administration of data orders and the online delivery of ordered data.

Internal and external users can access the EOWEB Geoportal (the online interface of D-SDA User Services facility) and use time and space filters to search for Earth observation datasets in the complete D-SDA catalogue. Making selections according to various sensor parameters or imaging modes is also possible, depending on the specific datasets.

Once retrieved, users can visualise and evaluate the data, select suitable items, order them di-rectly or download the information. Personalised messages in the portal inform users about the progress of their orders and the products that have been made available for download.
