GeoFarm is DLR's processing cloud for its Earth Observation Center (EOC) in Oberpfaffenhofen. GeoFarm provides a state-of-the-art system that is used by scientists for the processing of remote sensing data.
A cloud for large quantities of data
The German Remote Sensing Data Center (DFD) GeoFarm cloud at the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) also provides a connection to the German Satellite Data Archive (D-SDA) and to DLR's ground stations in Norway and Canada.
The processing infrastructure provides computing resources that serve scientists not only for the processing of data, but also in the development and implementation of new algorithms and the acquisition of expertise in the areas of High-Performance Computing (HPC), High-Performance Data Analytics (HPDA) and Big Data.
