3rd German Workshop on Rail Human Factors (17.-18. April 2018)

With this workshop we would like to raise awareness to the importance of rail human factors and want to trigger new research in this area in Germany. The workshop is organized in collaboration of the human factors department at the DLR Institute of Transportation Systems and the Institute of railway systems engineering and traffic safety at TU Braunschweig. Focus of the workshop will be research aiming for a user-friendly, safe and efficient rail transport of tomorrow. Topics of interest will be, for example, train drivers’ and signallers’ workplaces, usability of advisory and assistance systems, automation, fatigue and monotony, workload, risk and situation awareness, level crossings, human error and human reliability, and safety culture. The workshop provides an excellent platform for exchanges between science and industry.
