This data privacy statement by the German Aerospace Center (DLR, Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V.) informs users on the handling of personal data while using the web application and the app "DLR COMETS".
Personal data refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified – directly or indirectly – in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.
1. Name and address of the controller
The controller in the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation, other national data protection laws in the Member States and related data protection regulations is:
Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e. V. (DLR)
Telephone: +49 2203 601-0
The controller’s appointed data protection officer is:
Uwe Gorschütz, Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e. V., Linder Höhe, 51147 Cologne
2.Data processing within the web application and app
Due to reasons of data protection and data thrift the web application and the app was designed such that no personal data is processed. Thus, we have for example consciously refrained from a user registration or an analysis of user behavior. The app is above all completely useable offline. No internet connection is required once the app has been downloaded.
The web application and the app usage are therefore completely anonymous unless the user chooses to view one of the YouTube videos in the link provided. In order to offer users an experience which is as exciting as possible, we have linked with a video about the Rosetta mission from our YouTube channel. One can find these links within the virtual exhibition in the form of red, clickable squares.
The operating company of YouTube is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. YouTube, LLC is a subsidiary of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043-1351, USA.
With each visit to one of the individual pages of this web application and the app that are operated by the controller and on which a YouTube component (YouTube video) has been integrated, the Internet browser on the Information Technology system of the data subject is automatically prompted to download a display of the corresponding YouTube component.
The embedding code for YouTube videos was generated in advanced data privacy mode (for more detailed information in this regard, visit https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/171780).
Further information about YouTube is available at https://www.youtube.com/intl/en/yt/about/. During the course of this technical procedure, YouTube and Google acquire knowledge of the specific sub-page of our website that was visited by the data subject.
If the data subject is simultaneously logged into YouTube, YouTube recognizes – with each visit to a sub-page that contains a YouTube video – which specific sub-page of this web application and app website the data subject visited. This information is collected by YouTube and Google and associated with the YouTube account of the data subject.
YouTube and Google will receive information through the YouTube component that the data subject has visited our website if the data subject is simultaneously logged into YouTube when visiting this web application and app; this occurs regardless of whether the person clicks on a YouTube video or not. If such a transmission of information to YouTube and Google is not desirable for the data subject, then he or she can prevent this by logging off from their YouTube account before visiting our website.
3. Your rights
Although we do not store your personal data, are nevertheless required to inform you of your rights concerning the above-mentioned data.
You have at any time the following rights:
to be informed about processing of your personal data by us
to correct inaccurate personal data, or to delete it
to limit processing, if for example data are for a certain period inaccurate
to data portability, i.e. the receipt or transfer of a digital copy of your provided personal data
Finally, the user has the right to complain to the data protection agency responsible: Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kavalleriestraße 2-4, 40213 Düsseldorf.
4. Right to object
You have the right to object, at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you, which is based on parts (e) or (f) of Art. 6, paragraph 1 of the GDPR; this includes profiling based on those provisions. Should you wish to exercise your right to withdraw consent or to object, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
