Your mission:

The successful candidate will support the implementation of a web-based information system by preparing geo-referenced data for ingestion, by creating map products and by quality-checking metadata and styling. Furthermore, the candidate will deepen her/his knowledge in programming, either in SQL, Java or python in order to reprocess data and to automate tasks. Furthermore, the candidate will help in re-working and generation of training materials to different technical topics.

Your qualifications:

  • you are a student of Geography, Geoinformatics, Environmental Science or a related field of study
  • a compulsory internship according to study regulations is required
  • you have knowledge of GIS software (e.g. ArcMap, QGIS)
  • you already gathered basic programming experiences in either SQL, Java, Python or R
  • you have a good team spirit, an open-minded and communicative personality
  • your English skills are good
  • knowledge in SVN or Git and Linux are desirable
