"Cutting-edge research requires excellent minds – particularly more females – at all levels. Launch your mission with us and send in your application now!" Prof. Pascale Ehrenfreund - Chair of the DLR Executive Board

The department of Maritime Security Technologies is dedicated to solving a multitude of technological problems, necessary for the implementation and testing of innovative concepts for the protection of maritime infrastructures. This includes the development and demonstration of novel instruments and systems which are capable of recording, evaluating and visualising the protection status of maritime infrastructures in real time and as far as possible automatically.

Become part of our team and develop innovative solutions along side other members of the group. Detailed three-dimensional environment models are required for a wide variety of security-related applications, both above and below the waterline. Use your skills and experience to generate such three-dimensional environmental models and develop new methods to make the visulaisation of real-time data possible. In doing so, you will make use of data from optical sensor systems as well as from hydroacoustic systems. Through the visualisation of 3D surface and underwater worlds, the software you develop for real-time applications will make a significant contribution to recording and evaluating the protection status of maritime infrastructures.

Your qualifications:

  • completed scientific university studies ([MS1] university diploma, or master's degree) in computer science, media computer science or comparable
  • distinct programming knowledge for 3D real-time applications
  • knowledge in the use of game engines, image data processing, photogrammetry, image data fusion or comparable
  • experience in GPU programming
  • excellent communication skills
