In-flight guidance safety and security are deeply connected. The aeronautical group of the Institute of Communications and Navigation develops next generation communication systems for air traffic management. These communication systems will make air transportation cleaner, safer, and more secure. As a computer scientist you focus on the design and evaluation of cyber secure wireless communication systems for air traffic management.

In this position you will:

  • design and evaluate new wireless aeronautical communication protocols
  • secure aeronautical communications systems currently under development
  • contribute to standardization in international bodies
  • support us in the acquisition of new projects in aeronautical communications and
  • publish research papers at international conferences and in international journals

Your qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science or similar
  • expertise in the areas of cybersecurity and/or cryptography
  • knowledge of Python, version control using git, Linux, Windows, Latex, and Office
  • analytical and creative thinking for solving complex problems
  • very good knowledge of English
  • team-minded, communicative, cooperative, convincing, and confident
