FPGA Implementation of on-board networking and data processing for Low Earth Orbit Free-Space-Optical Communications

The main topic of this internship is the integration, verification and demonstration of data communication protocols in compliance with the SpaceFibre standard as well as the design and development of novel processing algorithms and data protocols for enabling its operation on an optical satellite modem optimized for free space optical data downlinks.

Your qualifications:

  • Study of Informatics, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or similar with focus on the development of embedded systems
  • Very good knowledge of VHDL
  • Knowledge of C/C++ is an asset
  • Basic understanding of Hardware/Software-Codesign
  • Familiarity with Networking standards is an asset
  • Self-sustained working behaviour
