Document checklist

  • A cover letter with your motivation, including the job reference number and the institute or facility to which you are applying
  • Your CV in tabular form
  • Relevant certificates, such as undergraduate degree, diploma, internships and any job references if applicable
  • Detailed transcript of grades, if applicable
  • Letters of recommendation, if applicable
  • Proof of an existing serious disability, if applicable

Are you an international applicant?

Welcome! As an open and internationally oriented research institution, our job advertisements are open to everyone. Simply check the required and desired qualifications and apply.

How to ensure your online application is successful

  1. Begin by clicking on the ‘Apply now’ link available in each job listing.
  2. Complete all relevant sections and upload your cover letter, CV and certificates –ensuring each file does not exceed 10 MB. Optionally, you may include additional documents in a separate field.
  3. Once you have filled out and uploaded all required files, click on ‘Send application’ to submit it to the relevant DLR personnel department. You will receive an immediate notification as to whether or not your application has been submitted successfully.
  4. Shortly thereafter, an automatic confirmation of receipt will assure you that your application has been successfully submitted to our applicant management system and is in good hands with our personnel department.

Now, we’ll keep our fingers crossed that we’re a good match.

Yes, that’s possible. Every year we advertise a large number of vacancies with very different specialisations and requirements. Please check which job postings might match your profile.

What happens next?

To ensure a thorough review of all applications in accordance with requirements of the collective labour agreement for public sector employees (Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst; TVöD), our personnel managers need some time. It may be several weeks before you receive a response from us. We appreciate your understanding and ask that you refrain from inquiring about the status of your application. As soon as a decision has been made, we will promptly communicate it to you.
