Development opportunities

You can rely on DLR

Apply for a job as usual and put your trust in a reliable employer – even in times of crises

At the beginning of the Corona crisis we at DLR all pulled together. We quickly switched to working from home, implemented all the necessary precautionary measures and kept up our productivity and performance. It is reassuring to be able to rely on one another and on DLR even in uncertain times. With due caution we are now gradually returning to ‘normal operation with restrictions’.

We are keeping all the necessary processes running, not only for our employees but also for applicants. You can apply for jobs – for interviews, our institutes and facilities will choose a suitable format, depending on the available options.

As a public research institution of the Federal Republic of Germany, we remain well prepared for the future.

DLR initiatives during the Corona crisis

Incidentally, many initiatives to combat the Corona pandemic have emerged from the ranks of our employees, from mask production to the laser-based detection of Covid-19.

We are currently providing financial support for three selected projects at DLR:

  • BLUESKY – a measurement campaign in the atmosphere during the Corona lockdown to investigate the reduced concentrations of pollutants in the air by the Institute for Atmospheric Physics and the Flight Experiments Facility at DLR´s Oberpfaffenhofen site
  • Aeromask – a joint study on the interaction of face masks and aerosols by the Institute of Aerospace Medicine, the Institute of Aerodynamics and Flow Technology and the Institute for Software Technology in Göttingen and Cologne
  • HPC against Corona – the development of an epidemiological prediction model by the Institute of Software Technology that allows for variations in the spread of the disease at the state level and possibly also at the county level
