Our mission:

At the Institute of Aerodynamics and Flow Technology in Göttingen, Braunschweig and Cologne, around 350 employees, 70% researchers, are working on optimising the aerodynamics and flow mechanics of aircraft and spacecraft – from commercial airliners and helicopters to hypersonic aircraft. At the interface between basic research and industrial applications, the scientists are engaged in numerical methods and experimental investigations that are tested in wind tunnels and flight tests.
