EUMETSAT is the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites with headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. It operates a system of meteorological satellites in geostationary and polar orbits for weather observation and forecasting, as well as for monitoring the climate and the environment. Satellite data is received, processed and distributed to users 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
