Data Management and Enrichment

The deluge of available data poses tremendous challenges onto data-centric value chains with respect to volume, heterogeneity, and velocity of the data, but also increasingly complex usage scenarios. To address these challenges, the members of the department carry out research and develop methods and technologies to efficiently and effectively prepare, describe, store, and manage the data deluge.

Data Analysis and Intelligence

The analysis of complex and large data sets requires the development of specific and adapted methods to exploit their value and ensure their security. The department currently focuses on three main topics: Machine Learning, Causal Inference and Distributed Intelligence & Open Innovation.

Data Acquisition and Mobilisation

High-quality data build the foundation for innovative data-based applications and services as well as for data-driven research. For the provision of such data, the department's research and development work provides the methodological foundations.
