Citizen Helmholtz network for the Study of Nocturnal Light Phenomena
The Nachtlicht-BüHNE project addresses Citizen Science in the context of the scientific application areas of astronomy, space research and light pollution. The aim is to develop a co-design process for app-based citizen science projects in which citizens work together with scientists from the application areas mentioned. As part of two pilot studies on the topics of light pollution and meteor research, scientists and citizens are developing two citizen science projects. Various collaboration techniques are (further) developed, tested and evaluated. The resulting co-design methodology is provided as part of a web platform with suitable tools for collaborative work. The resulting web portal is intended to serve as an entry point and a platform for the development of future, thematically related citizens' projects within the Helmholtz Association. The bundling of related projects in one portal promises to increase the visibility of Citizen Science activities of the HGF around the topic of "nocturnal light phenomena". In addition, there are potential synergies through the participation of interested citizens in several related projects.
