As part of the Year of Science 2023 on the theme of "Our Universe", the project Nachtlicht-BüHNE will carry out joint events and formats, in particular with the plantarium roadshow UniverseOnTour. In addition, extensive and precise data on lighting elements or on light management (e.g. switch-on and switch-off times) and fireballs will be obtained on the basis of the mobile applications developed in the Nachtlicht-BüHNE project. On the basis of the data obtained, new scientific findings, but also possible options for action, e.g. with regard to the reduction of power consumption and light pollution, are to be derived. In addition, the focus is on scientific communication around the topic of nocturnal light phenomena, the development of competencies in the field of scientific literacy, and the creation of awareness for socially relevant phenomena and changes. The research accompanying the project will focus on the evaluation of the scientific added value of the project, in particular the (further) developed data collection methods with regard to the quality of the data obtained and the usability of the methods.
