The payload – the front part of the rocket – houses the scientific experiments: the grey front body is made of special high-temperature materials and contains two cooling experiments. It also features four flaps whose angle can be changed during flight. In the future, such flaps could be used for control – but they become extremely hot during flight, so must first be thoroughly studied.
