DLR signs the foundation of the non-profit association Hi!Lusatia e.V. in Görlitz

On 08 June 2023, the members of the Lausitz Science Network e.V. (LSN) signed the foundation of the non-profit association Hi!Lusatia e.V. based in Görlitz. The German Aerospace Center (DLR) is one of the founding members of the association with its Institute of Low-Carbon Industrial Processes. The alliance was initiated by CASUS (Center for Advanced Systems Understanding at HZDR) and the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG) back in October 2020, with the aim of working together with the region's research institutions and business partners to further develop the strengths of the science and business region and increase its visibility.

The association Hi!Lusatia e.V. has set itself the goal of making the Lusatia region known throughout Europe and thus representing the excellence and innovative strength of the region both nationally and internationally. The purpose of the association is to promote the attractiveness and diversity of working, living, teaching and research in the three-country region of Germany/Poland/Czech Republic and far beyond this region through joint initiatives. Hi!Lusatia is committed to a future-oriented and sustainable transformation of the region and is actively helping to shape it. One of the greatest challenges is currently the recruitment of skilled workers, which is to be actively mastered by the foundation of the association. For DLR, membership is particularly relevant in the areas of energy research, sustainable energy supply and low-emission mobility to achieve the German climate goals.
