Opening of the international "JoinED-Call" 2025/26
To support greater collaboration in aeronautics research, the signatories of the AREANA Synergy MoU Group have agreed to publish their first "JoinED Call", which applies to funding programmes active after 15 October 2025 and able to deliver a preliminary funding indication by 31 October 2026 at the latest. (Individual national/regional deadlines apply. Please refer to the national/regional official procedures).
7 funding organisations from 5 countries, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania and the United Kingdom, are participating in this cooperation of national funding programmes. For Germany, this cooperation will take place as part of the LuFo VII-2 funding call, which is expected to start in spring 2026.
The objective of the call is to fund transnational research focussing on a wide range of topics related to aeronautics, in particular but not exclusively (national restrictions may apply):
- Alternative, climate-neutral propulsion technologies (open to all energy sources),
- Reducing energy demand and increasing the competitiveness, performance and operational efficiency of air transport
- Improving safety, resource efficiency and reducing the ecological footprint
