Delegation visit from the Japan Engineers Federation (JEF)

On 18 March, a high-ranking delegation from the Japan Engineers Federation (JEF) visited the Programme Management Agency for Aviation Research (PT-LF) in Bonn to discuss the latest developments in drone technology and the opportunities for international cooperation, particularly in the context of the AREANA Synergy MoU Group and GARTEUR.

The delegation showed particular interest in drone test centres, which are represented in large numbers in Germany, but are currently only available to a limited extent in Japan due to strict licensing regulations.

Together with the researching DLR, the Programme Management Agency for Aviation Research was able to report on the work and expertise of the DLR and the Project Management Agency for Aeronautics Research, as well as highlight opportunities for international cooperation. The talks on cooperation between Germany and Japan are to be continued in the coming weeks in order to utilise opportunities for closer cooperation in the medium term.
