The G-DAT DE project is concerned with evaluating the potential of remote sensing data and methodologies to support ongoing monitoring of the building and townscape inventory in Germany. In addition to surveying new or improved building and settlement-related features, practical and implementation aspects like cost-benefit ratios and the updating capabilities of the evaluation procedures and measurement methods play a key role. Targets for the analyses include blue-green-gray infrastructure, site density, building volumes, roof shapes, roof greening, building use, number of solar systems, surface temperatures, and heat islands.
