The WFP (World Food Programme) travelled to Oberpfaffenhofen on 28 October with various experts from the GIS/Remote Sensing sector to discuss joint projects and cooperation in the context of their initiative to set up their own Platform for Real-time Impact and Situation Monitoring.
The WFP experts presented the concept of such a platform, while the colleagues from the "Geo Risks and Civil Security" and "Land Surface Dynamics" departments gave a detailed overview of research work and current developments. There were intensive discussions about possible areas of cooperation. Further concrete approaches were developed.
