The German Aerospace Center (DLR) and Germany Teledyne Brown Engineering (TBE) have partnered to operate the DESIS instrument that is installed on the International Space Station (ISS). DESIS is realized as a push broom imaging spectrometer spectrally sensitive over the visible and near-infrared wavelength range from 400 to 1000 nm with a unique spectral resolution of 2.5 nm. DESIS measurements greatly advance our ability to characterize vegetation health and stress, water quality and pollution as well as the Earth’s mineral resources.
