Cyclon Amphan - DLR supports with satellite images

On May 20, 2020, tropical cyclone Amphan made landfall on the northeast coast of India and the south coast of Bangladesh. According to the Indian Meteorological Service, it is one of the worst storms in the region in the last 20 years. More than three million people were taken to emergency shelters. This is a particular challenge due to the corona pandemic.

MdB Schrodi zu Gast im ZKI

Der Bundestagsabgeordnete Michael Schrodi (SPD) besuchte am 22. Januar 2020 das DLR in Oberpfaffenhofen. Sein Interesse an Klimaschutz und Klimawandel führte Herrn Schrodi unter anderem ins Zentrum für Satellitengestützte Kriseninformation (ZKI), einem Nutzerservice im Earth Observation Center (EOC).
