	1000000 visitors see DLR's Earth Sculpture in Oberhausen Gasometer 18 May 2023 one million visitors, the exhibition "The Fragile Paradise" in the Oberhausen Gasometer is one of the most successful exhibitions in Germany. EOC Earth sculpture viewed by half a million visitors

The Corona pandemic and various adversities the exhibition entitled “A Fragile Paradise” at Gasometer Oberhausen has already passed the 500,000 visitor milestone. The highlight of the exhibition – a huge Earth sculpture suspended in a 100 metre high airspace – was brought alive by EOC experts with the help of animated satellite data.

Exhibition "The Call of the Mountains" opens at Gasometer Oberhausen

At 4478 metres the Matterhorn is not one of Earth’s highest mountains—not even the highest mountain in the Alps. But its striking triangular shape makes it unique. The German Aerospace Center (DLR) has measured this rock pyramid with the help of satellite and aircraft overflights and generated from the data a precise terrain model that now brings the mountain to Gasometer Oberhausen as a 3D projection on a 17 metre high reproduction of the Matterhorn. There it floats upside down in the 100 metre high airspace of the Gasometer as the highlight of the exhibition "The Call of the Mountains", opening on 16 March 2018. A mirror on the floor reflects the mountain, enabling a bird’s eye view.

	A Record: 100,000 people visit what is possibly the world’s largest globe 08 April 2016 In less than a month, 100,000 people have already viewed the earth sculpture created together with EOC at Gasometer Oberhausen. The current exhibition, “Nature‘s Wonders”, has thus broken all attendance records to date and was launched with more success than any previous Gasometer exhibition.

Possibly the world’s largest globe

16 March 2016
is probably the world’s largest projection of Planet Earth can be seen at the Oberhausen Gasometer since 11 March. A globe with a diameter of 20 metres is suspended in the 100 metre high tower of this industrial monument as the highlight of a new exhibit, "Nature Wonders". The animations projected on the globe were provided by EOC. In the platforms underneath, an exhibition curated by Peter Pachnicke features 150 large-format photos of animals and plants produced by leading photographers, including Frans Lanting, Rob Kesseler, Tim Flach and Anup Shah.

Satellite images in the art tunnel in Munich

12 January 2008
From January 2 to 11, 2008, the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) and Kunsttunnel München presented the exhibition "The Earth from Space". For the exhibition, DLR in Oberpfaffenhofen has prepared and compiled twelve images from its treasure trove of satellite data according to aesthetic criteria. The images of the Earth, which are the size of advertising posters, are displayed in public spaces at the transition between the U4/U5 and U3/U6 subway lines at Odeonsplatz.

Fotografien der Ausstellung: "Das Auge des Himmels"

Vom 29. März 2007 bis zum 2. Dezember 2007 präsentieren das Deutsche Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) und die Gasometer Oberhausen GmbH die Ausstellung "Das Auge des Himmels". 58 großformatige Satellitenbilder der Erde und weitere Exponate aus der Erdfernerkundung sind im Gasometer in Oberhausen, der höchsten Ausstellungshalle Europas, zu sehen. Alle Bilder der Ausstellung sind Unikate, die vom Deutsches Fernerkundungsdatenzentrum (DFD) und vom Institut für Methodik der Fernerkundung (IMF) des DLR zur Verfügung gestellt wurden. Die Zusammenstellung der Bilder ist in dieser Form erstmalig zu sehen.

Ausstellung München: Kunstwerk Erde - Eine Welt voller Überraschungen

31. Oktober 2002
Mit der großflächigen Freiluft-Installation "Kunstwerk Erde" setzte die Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft Bilder aus dem All spektakulär in Szene. Vom 16. bis zum 31. Oktober 2002 zeigte sie auf dem Königsplatz in München 20 faszinierende, bis zu zwölf Quadratmeter große Satelliten-Aufnahmen des Heimatplaneten von beeindruckender wissenschaftlicher und vor allem ästhetischer Aussagekraft.
