ASME Dedicated Service Award 2022
Director of the Institute of Future Fuels and Divisional Director for Energy and Transport Prof. Christian Sattler receives the 2022 ASME Dedicated Service Award for longstanding and outstanding personal commitment in various offices and functions of the Society.

The Director of the Institute of Future Fuels and Divisional Director for Energy and Transport Prof. Christian Sattler has been a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) since 2006.

With this award, the ASME recognises Sattler's many years of outstanding personal commitment in various offices and functions of the Society. In addition to organising major conferences, he served on the board of the Solar Energy Division for more than six years and now advises committees on renewable energy issues as an expert with the Clean Energy Technology Group (CETG).

"I was completely surprised by the news and I feel very happy about this award. However, it is even more important to me to motivate other researchers to also get involved in societies and committees. There is no substitute for personal professional exchange on topics from research and business. A great stage for knowledge transfer!", says Christian Sattler shortly after the announcement.

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers helps the global engineering community develop solutions for the real challenging world. ASME is a non-profit organisation founded in 1880. It facilitates collaboration, knowledge sharing and skill development in all engineering disciplines while promoting the important role of the engineer in society. ASME codes and standards, publications, conferences, continuing education and professional development programmes provide a foundation for advancing technical knowledge for a safer world.

The ASME Dedicated Service Award may be presented to selected individuals who have served the Society for at least ten years in one or more of the following areas: Standards and Certification; Public Affairs and Outreach; Membership Development and Engagement; Technical and Engineering Communities; Student and Junior Staff Development; Board of Directors; ASME Foundation; and ASME Auxiliary, Inc.

We warmly congratulate on this outstanding award!
