The Mission Planning System generates the “on-board timeline” for TET as well as BIROS. Requests for infrared acquisitions are collected via a dedicated interface, forwarded, and scheduled as circumstances permit. Such requests, along with the background sequential tasks for routine operation of the spacecraft busses, are combined into an “on-board timeline” which is put into a format that allows it to be sent to the spacecraft as a sequence of time-tagged telecommands.
The S-band ground station network for routine operations consists of the ground stations in Weilheim and Neustrelitz, with Weilheim being the main station for receiving telemetry and uplinking telecommands, and Neustrelitz being the main station for receiving the payload data. Additional ground stations are available during the LEOP and commissioning phases as well as for any other critical phases needed to ensure high monitoring and communication coverage.
