DEPA 2050 (DEvelopment Pathways for Aviation up to 2050)

General growth of future air traffic demand as well as the introduction of new entrants in air traffic such as UAV, air taxis or electric aircraft will have an impact on air traffic organisation and execution.

In DEPA2050, eight aviation institutes of DLR are developing scenarios for aviation up to 2050, compiling technology roadmaps for components vehicles and analysing their long-term influences on the air traffic system.

The Institute of Flight Guidance is covering the field of air traffic management development based on the new European vision of a Digital Sky. Two models were developed here and integrated into the tool chain to estimate expected effects of improvements on ATM efficiency.
