When dealing with certain operational requirements, the Institute of Flight Guidance not only uses the DLR experimental fleet. Instead, it also regularly makes use of the aircraft of its partners in the fields of research and business to perform experiments.
For example, successful experiments have been conducted using aircraft of Air Berlin, TUIfly and Condor for special approach procedures using operational avionic and FMS systems. Further ways to use external aircraft emerge from the cooperation with Flight Calibration Services GmbH in Braunschweig and the Dutch National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR) within the AT-One alliance.
