The large-scale research facilities have been in operation for many years, permitting us to maintain a constantly updated empirical database. Data from a variety of data sources can be linked in order to gain new findings. The fact that the database has been in existence for so long also permits the identification of development trends by means of longitudinal studies. We make data available to research partners from science and industry for academic studies.
The back-end consists of a powerful database machine, a central server pool and comprehensive middleware components for building complex information and communication technologies in transportation. The back-end serves communication between the various services of the AIM intelligent mobility application platform and the Institute's large-scale research facilities and provides a powerful execution environment for high-quality services. It also provides database and archive functionalities.
Data services provide relevant traffic and geo-data from Braunschweig's (urban) transport infrastructure. These include the data and map data bases for highly and fully automated driver assistance systems.
