  • Operation and further development of the ACT/FHS experiment support facility and ATRA base measurement system
  • Aircraft instrumentation
  • Qualification of aircraft modifications
  • Design of system architectures for measurement and data processing equipment
  • Development of qualified measurement and computer systems for aviation
  • Software development for real-time systems
  • Investigations on electromagnetic compatibility
  • Flight test support: telemetry, simulation, and operation of measurement systems
  • Development and calibration of sensors
  • Operation of laboratory and machine shop with qualification for prototype manufacturing within the DLR design organisation
  • Information technology support
  • Setup of the Wind Energy (DFWind) research platform

The department is divided into five groups:

  • Qualification
  • Measurement Systems
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Design and Construction
  • Information Technology

Fields of activity include research on:

  • ACT/FHS Experiment Support Facility
  • ATRA Base Measurement System
