The aim of the MONITOR portal, which was established within an EU project and is continuously updated by DLR, is to support actors with information needs on air transport development, especially for strategic analysis, modeling activities and quantification exercises. Therefore a monitoring system has been developed, consisting of the three pillars (meta-) database, indicators and future studies, which allow a systematic and complementary view on the long-term development of air transport on different spatial and societal levels
