In 2017, DLR founded the Institute for Data Science in Jena to turn Big Data - complex and unstructured data sets - into smart data from which conclusions can be drawn and recommendations for action devised.
At the DLR site in Jena, the DLR Institute of Data Science develops concepts for the management, integration and interdisciplinary processing, analysis and preparation of vast amounts of data (Big Data) with around 25 employees. The increasing digitalisation of society requires innovative applications for all areas of life, especially for science.
At the DLR_School_Lab Jena, pupils can carry out experiments on current research topics at DLR and especially the DLR Institute for Data Science in Jena.
