The main objective of this activity is to design and develop a software based validation platform implementing and fully validating key functions of the DVB-RCS Next-Generation Standard. The Testbed is designed and implemented to provide manufacturers and researchers with a validated reference design of DVB-RCS NG Standard sub-systems implementing key functions. The Testbed contains sub-elements from the MAC layer, Link Layer and upper Layers. Although the implementation of the physical layer elements is not in the scope of this activity, the impact of the physical layer shall be modelled in the Testbed.
