The MONALISA2.0 project has delivered an exciting vision and a well-defined concept over how shipping can be turned in to a more efficient, safe and environmentally friendly transport mode through Sea Traffic Management (STM). Finally, the project developed a well-defined route description how to get there - The STM Master Plan (www.stmmasterplan.com) Therefore, MONALISA 2.0 had concrete steps in the process of further developing the Motorways of the Sea concept by implementing concrete pilot actions and studies that will foster deployment of new maritime services and processes. The DLR Institute of Communications and Navigation was active in Action 2 „Sea Traffic Management Definition Phase Study“ by supporting knowledge transfer from the air traffic management sector towards sea traffic management.
Partners
The MONALISA 2.0 consortium consists of a large number of public, private and academic partners which together constitutes a balanced, relevant and competent partnership in order to implement the project in an efficient way. The geographical scope of the partnership covers the Baltic Sea, North Sea and the Mediterranean Sea and encompasses the EU Member States Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Germany, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Malta and Greece as well as the neighboring country Norway. Swedish Maritime Administration (Project Coordinator) and 37 other partners from 10 different European Nations.
