RM-FMT Summary and Strategy
The study aims to identify, analyse, simulate, optimise and demonstrate resource management (RM) schemes for adaptive fade mitigation techniques with the necessary corresponding algorithms, functionalities, protocols, signalling information and formats for future broadband, DVB-based satellite systems leading to a higher efficiency with respect to current systems.
The Institute of Communications and Navigation develops new resource management and scheduling algorithms for DVB-S2, DVB-RCS and enhanced DVB-RCS. In addition, the developed algorithms and protocols will be implemented in a DVB-S2/DVB-RCS protocol and system simulator to assess and optimize the performance and to validate the protocols.
The project is funded by the European Space Agency.
