An article dealing with the impact of insect contamination on operational and economic effectiveness of aircraft with natural laminar flow has been published successfully in the AIAA Journal of Aircraft. The article written by Kai Wicke has its origin in the research work on the assessment of aircraft with natural laminar flow within the operational environment, performed by the Department of System Analysis in Air Transportation. It was supported by cooperation with DLR’s Institute of Aerodynamics and Flow Technology.
