Since December 2016 the DLR Institute of Aerospace Medicine together with the DLR Space Administration organizes the annual Human Physiology Workshop at :envihab, the research facility of the Institute of Aerospace Medicine. In short talks the work in the physiological fields of aerospace medicine, extreme environments, exercise and clinical physiology is presented and discussed. A creative and friendly atmosphere allows the scientists to present their work and to get a direct feedback.
9. Dezember 2017, :envihab, Forum, DLR Köln, Planitzweg
On December 9th the 2nd Human Physiology Workshop, conducted by the DLR Institute of Aerospace Medicine together with the DLR Space Administration, has taken place. The numerous participants heard and discussed 24 talks from different topics. They took the opportunity to visit the research facility :envihab and were informed about the latest bed rest study VaPER as well as the further working fields of the Institute of Aerospace Medicine before the prizes for the best lectures were awarded. The first prize was awarded to Bianca Brix for her talk on „Assessing Lymphatic Flow Changes in Patients with Lymphatic Disease: Effects of Physical Therapy“. Marcello Grassi was awarded the second prize for „Age-related walking speed changes after 60 days of bed rest“ and the third prize was given to Valentina Faihs for her lecture „Influence of acute normobaric and hyperbaric hypoxia on hemodynamics, cognitive function, cerebral near-infrared spectroscopy and gene expression“. Congratulations!
