At the Hannover Messe 2018, DLR presents technology marketing innovations and innovation ideas developed from research results. One innovation is the DLR-C.R.O.P.® process, a purely biological method for the production of fertilizers from biological waste materials and wastewater containing high levels of nitrogen. The focus is on environmentally friendly nutrient recovery and emission and water protection. The main objective is the recovery of nitrogen and phosphate from liquid manure and nitrogenous waste water and further processing into a fertilizer granulate. It also enables the removal of drug residues. The C.R.O.P.® underlying idea of the sustainable and low-emission cultivation of crops has many things in common with the concept of bioregenerative life support systems from space travel. In both cases, waste is considered a valuable raw material and is put to further use.
You will find these and other innovations at the Hannover Messe on the DLR stand in Hall 2/Stand C57.
