Deep Space 3 (PSI 9 under construction)

Deep Space 3 (PSI 9) is a vertically orientated facility. This simulation chamber has been successfully used for BIOSTACK (EURECA) exposure as preparation for the corresponding flight experiment. It is used for long duration astrobiological experiments in UHV for up to 2 years at a final value of 1 x 10-7 Pa.

General technical specification

Total usable inner size D x H [m]: 0.20 x 0.20

Pressure [Pa]: down to 1 x 10-7

Irradiation source: 254 nm monochromatic Hg low pressure
