Institute of Atmospheric Physics

The Institute of Atmospheric Physics investigates the physics and chemistry of the global atmosphere from the Earth's surface up to the upper boundary of the middle atmosphere at about 120 km height. As an institute of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) we answer questions associated with atmospheric processes and with relevance to the research programmes "Aeronautics, Space, and Transportation" and "Energy" of the Helmholtz Association (HGF).

Mapping the national, regional and global emissions of transport: the DLR impulse project ELK

25. March 2022
The direct and indirect emissions of the different transport sectors contribute significantly to climate change. In the DLR impulse project ELK consistent inventories for present-day emissions of all transport modes and of the related energy and industry sectors will be developed. ELK aims at establishing a primary source of information for different stakeholders and working groups.
