QCL/ICL spectrometer
The DLR QCL/ICL spectrometer is based on cutting-edge quantum cascade and interband cascade laser technology. It allows airborne observations of important trace and greenhouse gases in the Earth’s lower atmosphere. In its current configuration the instrument is capable of measuring ultra-low concentrations of CH

ROMARA

WALES
The primary objective of the DLR project WALES is the preparation of a spaceborne mission to overcome the shortcomings of radiosondes and passive satellite sensors in mapping the global water vapour distribution. One major objective is the validation of the concept in an airborne demonstrator, which is based on a laser technology principally suited for in-space operation.
