Whether in science or industry, well-qualified scientists are extremely coveted recruits. Only they can secure long-term research excellence, innovative capability and academic qualification in Germany. This is why maintaining the outstanding quality of education provided to junior scientists while ensuring good professional prospects is a key concern.
There is substantial demand for junior scientists who are able to apply new, exceptional, and innovative research ideas to develop viable solutions to fundamental and application-based questions, especially in the areas of global transformation and socio-ecological research.
At the DLR Project Management Agency, we support a number of projects involving excellent junior scientists in the areas of global transformation and socio-ecological research. The projects are selected based on technical excellence, originality, international competitiveness of the project idea and applicant qualifications. They are either embedded in larger, topical support initiatives or are implemented within the framework of funding measures created specifically to promote junior scientists. In most cases, the projects are designed to run for four to five years.
