Every child and adolescent should have access to the best possible educational opportunities, regardless of social background. For this reason, the ‘Kultur macht stark. Bündnisse für Bildung’ programme receives funding to provide extracurricular activities aimed at the cultural education of disenfranchised children and adolescents. In total, up to 230 million euro will be made available by 2017.
The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has selected 33 programme partners – nationwide associations and initiatives – to implement the funding programme. Throughout Germany, they initiate local alliances for education. Concerned citizens create projects for children and adolescents from backgrounds that inhibit their access to education: these include sponsorship and mentoring programmes, reading support, holiday activities, music, dance and theatre projects.
At the DLR Project Management Agency, we support programme partners with all technical and administrative issues. We support programme evaluation, assist our clients in public relations, and organise events to raise awareness of the programme.
