The national information hotline for further education is available to citizens in Germany seeking competent advice on the issue of further education.
At the DLR Project Management Agency, we are responsible for the project management of the service hotline on further education. The trial phase of this innovative service within further education consultancy started in January 2015. Qualified further education consultants are on hand from 10:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday (apart from public holidays), to answer questions about further education. They assist callers by clarifying uncertainties regarding further education, identifying the precise services that meet their requirements, and if necessary putting them in touch with local contacts. Those seeking advice in the trial regions of Berlin, Lower Saxony, North Rhine Westphalia, Saxony, and Schleswig-Holstein can be directed to consultants closer to their location to receive more in-depth advice. There is a TTY (tele typewriter) relay hotline for the hearing impaired. A knowledge management system provides those involved with any information they might need.
At the DLR Project Management Agency, we coordinate with external service providers to set up hotline operations, support the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in its cooperation with trial regions and other stakeholders, and also assist in developing the service. Together with our clients, we develop strategies to continue operating the service hotline after the trial phase.
