Germany enjoys an outstanding reputation worldwide as a hub of innovation. The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has initiated a project aimed at promoting Germany around the world as a hub of innovation and at fostering internationalisation within research and science. The project is designed to present clear competencies and to indicate the areas and topics in which cooperation would be possible.
The project, launched in a number of important countries under the motto ‘Research in Germany – land of ideas’, will present all the attractive facets of Germany and its research landscape. It will comprise a number of campaigns addressing topics of relevance to the high-tech strategy. In them, German research institutions, networks and business involved in research will showcase their activities, strengths and cooperation potential. Here, for instance, the DLR Project Management Agency manages the topical campaign ‘Germany – partner for medical technology’, organising trade fairs in Tel Aviv and Chicago. In addition, we supported an informational event in Russia as part of the country campaign ‘Russia’, and organised exploratory trips with a delegation of experts to the innovation region of Tomsk, among other things. Our specific expertise in certain countries therefore helps further strengthen Germany’s global standing as a hub of innovation, while providing additional impetus for collaboration.
