Applied Hydrogen Technologies
The "Applied Hydrogen Technologies" department is specifically developing sustainable technologies based on regeneratively produced hydrogen. Technology and know-how from decades of working with hydrogen in space travel is transferred to the mobility and energy sectors.
Chemical Propellant Technology
The Chemical Propellant Technology (CPT) department is engaged in the application-oriented development, characterization, and testing of advanced propellants, propellant components, novel functional materials, and propellant concepts for aerospace propulsion systems.

Test Facility Engineering
The Engineering department develops and designs test facilities for propulsion systems. It also builds test launchers to examine technological issues, and supports developments in research and technology.

Quality Management and Assurance
The staff department monitors the fulfillment of quality-related customer-specific, regulatory and legal requirements, supports the performance of risk assessments, failure analyses and testing, the implementation of measures and the preparation of documented information, and promotes quality awareness and the further development of the integrated management system.

The Rocket Propulsion Systems department conducts research on engines at the overall system level as well as tests with representative engine demonstrators.

The Rocket Propulsion Technology department conducts research into the fundamentals of processes in rocket combustion chambers and new technologies for use in engines.

Satellite- and Orbital Propulsion
Novel propellants such as ionic liquids, environmentally friendly and hypergolic ignition blends, gel and hybrid propellant systems, and improved hydrocarbon-based propellants and the propulsion systems adapted to them enable promising new applications and can make aerospace easier, cheaper, and safer.

Test Facilities
The Test Facility department is responsible for planning, building and operating test facilities for propulsion systems on behalf of the European Space Agency (ESA). It also maintains co-operations with the European space industry (Airbus Safran Launchers).
