The Mission Control and Data Systems (MCS) Group designs, develops and supports software and software systems. Since the German Space Operations Center (GSOC) was founded in 1968, the MCS Group has built and maintained more than 30 different command and ground control systems for over 20 different satellite types, including geostationary communications satellites, lowflying Earth observation satellites, scientific prototypes and for human spaceflight. The portfolio of the MCS Group currently consists of 20 software tools of different complexity and size.
