Concept study of the PLATO probe with its payload consisting of 26 separate cameras with overlapping fields-of-view (left). To the right an alternative concept is reproduced: The two "fast" cameras (grey colour) are centrally arranged. Both drawings, however, show a meanwhile outdated design with 34 cameras.
