The National Contact Point (NCP) for Space is the helpdesk for all questions related to Horizon Europe Space. It is part of the official EU network of National Contact Points (NCP). In Germany these NCPs are established for the research topics within the EU Framework Programme and for some cross section activities. The German NCPs are coordinated by the EU Office of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
The NCP Space is acting for the Federal Ministry for Econoomic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). Since the start of the 6th Framework Programme in 2002 the NCP Space has been part of the Space Agency of the German Aerospace Center. Since the beginning of the 7th Framework Programme in 2007 the EU has been funding Space as an independent theme.
With the start of Horizon Europe "Space" became one topic line witin Cluster 4 "Digital, Industry and Space".
The NCP Space at DLR offers information and support to all call topics within the space theme to German industry, SMEs, research organistions, higher eduction institutions or other organisations.
From 2008 to 2021 the German Space NCP was coordinating COSMOS, the network of European Space NCPs. Now it is partner of the COSMOS network project.
