Student and youth projects

The gang of reporters: Evu, Albert, and Marie from the "Information on space exploration for primary schools"
The "student and youth projects" part of Germany’s National Space Programme aims to introduce students and young people to the results of space research and, more importantly, to their application to important governmental, scientific, and economic problems, using specifically selected examples and areas of interest. At the same time it intends to motivate young people to take an interest in the science and technology behind these findings, as well as to promote the use of modern media in schools. Yet another objective is to make careers in science or technology more attractive.

DLR Space Administration’s student and youth projects use both print and electronic media, the backbone being two printed publications - "Information on space exploration for schools", which is designed for institutes of higher education, and "Information on space exploration for primary schools", which first appeared in 2003. In addition, DLR Space Administration provides and distributes CD-ROMs with information on selected subjects.

Its activities are complemented by other DLR projects, such as DLR_School_Lab, as well as school projects run by the Outreach and Education sections of the European Space Agency (ESA).
